Our first fully loaded training day was today. We mapped out a nice ride from our home in Boulder up to Carter Lake. Marc hooked up the Bob trailer to his Bianchi Coast 2 Coast and added about 30 pounds in weight from our Total Gym (nice!). I had it easy with a 5 lb handlebar bag and a 14 lb. backpack strapped onto the rear rack of my Trek 1600.
It was a gorgeous ride...a bit overcast but a nice 55 degrees out. There were tons of bikers out. I bet we saw at least 60 bikers today on our ride...all passing us of course. But we didn't do too badly. Our stats: 64 total miles, 1995 feet of ascent and a 14 mph average. All was well until we hit a nasty headwind/cross wind about 10 miles North of home. Luckily we beat the storm front that was headed in and got home right before the rain.
So the trip hasn't officially started yet but I'm already dreaming of what types of pie I will be eating. Does cheesecake count as pie? I think I want a big piece, but I'll have to suffice with a chocolate turtle and a handful of Jelly Belly's. YUM!!!

Settled on Pepperoni Pizza Pie. (Hey its Pie!) from Papa Murphys.... YUM!
ReplyDeleteI think cheesecake should count as pie. It has crust and a filling, even if it is called "cake", I think it acts more like pie.
ReplyDeleteI agree! That also opens the door to numerous types of cheese pie.
